DC-922 RAID controller is FLASH upgradeable. The Update Flash Utility provides
a function for programming DC-922 firmware.
The Update Flash Utility provides the primary method of updating the IOP
firmware (DC-922 firmware). Executing under ROM-DOS, the Update Flash
Utility uses I2O messages to perform all functions. Therefore, the DC-922
hardware must be fully operational for the Update Flash Utility to function.
The files you will need to program Flash firmware are :
BOOT_A.IMZ : for Boot
BOOT-B.IMZ : bin file
Follow the procedure in Update Flash Procedure to update DC-922.
1. To download the firmware files , BOOT_A.IMZ & BOOT_B.IMZ. ( available
below) Then download the utility file from http://www.winimage.com/winimage.htm to decompress *.IMZ
file.
2. Insert BOOT_A diskette into floppy drive A:. Boot the system from floppy
drive A:. The ROM Startup Menu appears. At the Main Menu enter number 1 (Flash
Update Utility) and hit Enter. The splash message and opening screens appear
followed by the Update RAID Firmware screen. (Note: If you would like to
recover RAID firmware, please refer the user manual for recover procedures and
at the Main Menu enter number 2.)
3. Insert BOOT_B diskette containing the firmware update image into the floppy
drive A:. Select the Update RAID Firmware option and hit Enter to initiate the
process of downloading the firmware update image from the floppy disk to the
flash on your DC-922 hardware. The RAID Firmware Download Successful screen is
shown in Figure: RAID Firmware Download Successful.
